About

ProfitShare.ninja was built as an alternative way of promoting (software) services and products while allowing ANYONE to participate and be paid for their efforts, however small.

This service is mainly meant to help small starting businesses to get on their feet without negatively affecting cash flow. However, it can be used by any-size business as a new promotional tool for their products and services. For many services it may work very well because with our help you are easily able to reward anyone who promotes you successfully.

How it works

  • A business lists their product/service (called here "a project") on ProfitShare.ninja and sets offered profit share(s).
  • Potential promoters search or browse the list of available projects or receive regular email notifications alerting them to newly listed projects fitting criteria they were able to set on ProfitShare.ninja.
  • Anyone who likes a service can register as its promoter.
  • Using personalized links or coupon codes the promoters are free to promote a listed project any way they see fit*, online or offline. (For example, just mention the personalized link on your Facebook and you are promoting the project already.)
  • When a customer that originally arrived through a personalized link or used a coupon code makes a purchase at any time within the next 12 months, the project must report that to ProfitShare.ninja, which registers the transaction, calculates both profit share for the promoter and possible discount for the customer and responds with that information to the calling project.
  • If a customer discount applies the target app must apply that discount to the price before the customer pays.
  • ProfitShare.ninja periodically (currently every 2 weeks) creates invoices containing profit shares from all transactions by customers brought to the target projects by any of the registered promoters. By now the project owner has already made profit from which a part is going to be distributed among its promoters after the invoice for the total amount of those rewards is paid.
  • When the project owner pays the invoice, the rewards become available to all promoters who brought customers that created the profit in the charged period.
  • The promoters can withdraw available funds at any time they like using one of the available money transfer services.

Few more important points

  • If an invoice payment is overdue all projects linked to that organization will receive lower star rating, alerting others about potential problems and causing decline in number of promoters of that project. The impact on rating become more severe with more overdue days.
  • ProfitShare.ninja offers a facility to test that the target project really reports all relevant transactions back to ProfitShare.ninja. Unsuccessful tests lower the rating of that particular project significantly. Any promoter can perform these tests. All test results are recorded and available for others to view.
  • ProfitShare.ninja offers tools and avenues to resolve misunderstandings and restore project ratings when justified.
  • Different approaches to promotion may be needed based on the combination of type of a project and a particular target audience in particular local area. To enable varying approaches ProfitShare.ninja offers tools like multiple entry points to the target project, multiple redirection links for promoters, custom promoter pages that can be used as intermediate stops explaining whatever is needed before redirecting the customer to the target application etc.
